Service-call scenario · Blue Mountain Beach · ZIP 32459 · September 13, 2026
When a homeowner in Blue Mountain Beach calls us about rekeying a lock, they’re usually looking for a quick, reliable solution that restores security without the expense of a full replacement. Our team at WaterColor Locksmith is ready to handle those requests, guiding the caller through what to expect and what to prepare. A rekey gives you fresh keys while keeping the existing lock hardware, a practical choice for new homeowners or after moving in with roommates.
What a Typical Call Looks Like
When this call comes in, the customer typically tells us which door or gate needs attention—often a front entry, a garage, or a pool house lock. They will confirm they live in the ZIP 32459 area of Walton County, and may mention nearby landmarks like the Dune Allen Beach boardwalk. We also confirm the exact address to ensure we dispatch the nearest technician, which helps us stay on schedule.
We ask a few quick questions to verify ownership and to understand if any special hardware (e.g., deadbolt, keypad) is involved.
How Our Tech Handles the Rekey
Our technician arrives with a master key set and the appropriate rekey kits for the lock brand identified on the call. After confirming the lock type, we remove the plug, replace the pins to match a new key code, and reinstall the plug, leaving the existing hardware in place. We never attempt to bypass the lock; our process follows the manufacturer’s guidelines to maintain warranty coverage.
- Verify the lock model and serial number.
- Document the new key code for the homeowner’s records.
- Test the lock several times to ensure smooth operation.
Scheduling and Arrival Details
When we schedule the job, we give an estimated arrival window of 30‑45 minutes and confirm the best entry point for our tech. Once on site, we keep the work area clean and notify the homeowner when the rekey is complete and the new keys are ready for pickup. If any unexpected issue arises, we discuss options with the homeowner before proceeding, ensuring transparency and no surprise costs.
What to have ready
- Proof of ownership or a rental agreement
